JETRO Singapore office has a shipbuilding department and a Ship Machinery department. The Shipbuilding and Ship Machinery departments are an overseas office of The Cooperative Association of Japan Shipbuilders (CAJS) and The Japanese Marine Equipment Association (JSMEA). These divisions specialise in promoting industrial co-operation between Japan and South East Asia and Oceania in their respective fields of shipbuilding and ship machinery. Their activities include providing Japanese shipbuilding companies with information on the rapidly evolving Asian shipbuilding industry, conducting feasibility studies of the technology cooperation between Asian and Japanese shipyards and assisting Asian shipbuilders and marine manufacturers in developing business opportunities in Japan.
JETRO Singapore branch provides the Asian maritime community with information on the Japanese shipbuilding and machinery industries and distributes a number of publications relevant to industry members.
